We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the success of this pilot, Karate for Mental Health CIC has now secured funding for a full year through the Community Foundation for Surrey. This will allow us to:
The new sessions will start on Wednesday the 3rd of September 2025 and will run weekly every Wednesday (during term time) from 12:30 to 13:30.
The classes are open to individuals from all backgrounds, with a special focus on those from disadvantaged communities, as well as individuals with disabilities, mental or physical health challenges, or financial difficulties. Designed to accommodate people of all abilities, the classes provide a safe and supportive environment for stress relief, confidence building, and improving overall mental and physical health. Whether participants are experienced martial artists or new to the discipline, each session will offer tailored exercises to promote mindfulness, resilience, and fitness.
Due to hall space limitations, there are only 20 available spots for each session. The project will run for the full academic year (2025/2026). Each class offers a unique opportunity to experience the benefits of martial arts while working on mental wellbeing in a supportive, inclusive setting.
We are grateful for the guidance and support of the Community Wellbeing Team, who have been instrumental in ensuring the project’s success and accessibility.
To register for a spot, or for more information, please contact us either via email or phone. We invite everyone, particularly those facing personal challenges, to join us for these open classes and take part in this empowering journey toward improved mental and physical health.
Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community that supports mental wellbeing and fosters personal growth.
