We are excited to share the successful completion of our Safer Training with Defibrillator project, which has been made possible through the generous support of our community via crowdfunding. Thanks to the incredible contributions of our supporters, we raised a total of £1,206, surpassing our initial target and enabling us to purchase a life-saving defibrillator.
The defibrillator, priced at £814.80, has been installed at ShinKick Muay Thai Gym and is now available to all its staff and students. Additionally, the facility is shared with two other gyms—Black Badger BJJ and Les Bubka Karate Jutsu—who will also have access to the device, ensuring a safer training environment for everyone involved.
The remaining funds will be allocated toward purchasing replacement batteries for the defibrillator. With an average battery life of 4 years, this will ensure that the defibrillator remains operational for 12 years—helping to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our gym members and the wider community over an extended period.
This project marks the first completed initiative by Karate For Mental Health CIC, and it represents an important step toward enhancing safety in training environments. We are committed to continuing our work on other community-focused projects, and we look forward to the impact they will make.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and supported this vital project. Your generosity is truly appreciated!
